The Department for Education came to Haybridge to make this short film with our trainees about applying for school-led training. Take a look for yourself!
Training at Haybridge so far has been such a brilliant experience. I am in the classroom everyday and have professionals to support me in everything I do. The teaching school staff provide us with professional studies every week and provide pastoral support whenever we need it. This hands-on training means that I will be full prepared to take on an NQT job in any school.

Training to teach at Haybridge gives me the chance to continually reflect and adapt my teaching. It is great to be a part of the school for the whole year whilst training.

Training with Haybridge has been fantastic. My first placement school is King Charles I in Kidderminster. Not only do I have the direct input of the Haybridge SCITT, but I am also benefitting from the knowledge of experienced teachers at King Charles. The insight of teachers/mentors who are still working in the profession is unparalleled; they are putting into practice daily the techniques for teaching and learning that they are sharing with me. The weekly training sessions are also led by a mixture of different teachers, from different subjects with different backgrounds and this only enriches the training experience. Being in the school for a longer period of time makes you really feel part of the team; it gives you a greater opportunity to learn about the way a school works and how you can make a positive contribution both inside and outside of the classroom.

The School Direct Training has been fantastic so far and already I feel so integrated within the school and the PE department. I am really enjoying my time here and there's always a helping hand from my tutor and mentor.

I immediately felt at home at Haybridge due to the fantastic support and training given. I am working in a great department and have been involved with supporting and teaching classes from day one. I am getting to do what I love everyday - what better way to prepare for a career in teaching?
Trainee Geography Teacher
The key part of my teacher training at Haybridge is the people I work with. They treat everyone as an individual and tailor the course to suit our needs in order to help us become the best that we can be.

Training to be a teacher at Haybridge offers so many benefits. Importantly, the support network is amazing, along with feeling like a valued member of the department and that adrenaline rush you get from teaching your planned lessons!

I just wanted to say good luck at the new school. I hope they feel privileged to have you teach them and I just want to thank you for being an awesome English teacher: you have taught me so much, so thank you!

Just wanted to let you know that was an EPIC science club yesterday. I think science club is awesome and I'm also very lucky to have you as a chemistry teacher!

Why should trainee teachers or schools choose Haybridge Teaching Alliance? From my experience, I feel that I am a valued teacher – my opinion counts. So often I feel frustrated as I would like to put my ideas across but sometimes as an NQT it is not always opportune. The NQT programme has allowed me to share my good practice and again, I am such a geek and get very excited when I learn a new technique or idea for my own practice from another professional. My NQT professional mentor is friendly and supportive. Our last training session was about assessment – an area I feel every teacher should continually improve on. The day was informative and it was great sharing good practice and even better, sharing the stuff that didn’t quite go to plan and having a bit of a giggle! We can only learn from those mistakes and move on. The evening teach meet was also fantastic with other teachers sharing their strategies and we ate pizza - bonus! Following on, I suppose the question I should pose to you instead is: Why would you not choose Haybridge Teaching Alliance? Having the right training provider is crucial in feeling supported – no matter where you are in your career! Helping our pupils’ progress can only come from an ever-improving teacher. No teacher is ever outstanding – we can only keep learning from the challenges our pupils present. Haybridge Teaching Alliance speak with individuals and are only ever a phone call or email away. I feel like they are fellow colleagues rather than training providers. They are friendly, supportive and have made me personally feel like I am the teacher I have always wanted to be.
