How can I find out more about the course?
Sometimes people say that the course sounds too good to be true so please come and meet our fantastic trainees for yourself. Here’s a breakdown of the ways you can find out more:
Attend an Open Event
These events give you the chance to:
- Take a tour of the facilities.
- Meet current trainees and the SCITT (School-Centered Initial Teacher Training) team.
- Ask questions and get a feel for the program.
- These events are listed under “EVENTS” on the homepage, so check there for dates and details.
If you want to experience what the course and school placements are like, you can:
- Sit in on lectures to see the type of content being taught.
- Shadow a trainee teacher during their school placement to get a sense of what the practical side of the training involves.
If you can’t attend an open event, you can:
- Arrange a visit at a time that works for you to tour the facilities or meet with someone from the team.
- Set up a virtual meeting via Teams if an in-person visit isn’t possible.
You’re welcome to bring parents, family, or friends along to any of these events, so they can also ask questions and see what the program is about.
If you’re unsure about something or want to know more specific details, reaching out directly to the program staff would be a good next step!
