What does the internship involve?

We will use your address to place you in a school that is near to you when you apply and confirm this before you start your internship. Our travel policy states that you would be expected to commute no more than 60 minutes to your placement school.

You will be expected to travel to Haybridge High School and Barr Beacon School for 3 days during the internship.

The programme involves:

  • Structured training, shadowing and lesson observation followed by a chance to jointly plan and deliver lessons.
  • A combination of teaching, running subject-related projects, offering intensive support for children who are struggling, helping with experiments and laboratory work.
  • Opportunities to complete a project presentation which will be presented to members of the schools’ leadership teams.
  • Access to one-to-one mentors who are inspirational classroom teachers in their specialism.
  • Opportunities to network with qualified subject specialists.
