How will I be supported and what benefits will I receive?
The level of support trainees receive at Haybridge is a key strength. The small cohort size allows the SCITT team to know each trainee on a first name basis and individual requirements can be catered for.
As the PGCE is accredited by Bath Spa University, trainees have the additional advantage of accessing the full range of university services such as the library, academic support and societies.
Trainees with additional needs are very well cared for and support plans are put in place when needed.
Trainees are mentored in their school setting by experienced school teachers. Extensive mentor training is given to ensure teachers are skilled in supporting trainee teachers via effective target setting and supportive coaching techniques. Clear communication between Haybridge SCITT course leaders and school mentors ensures that students feel well supported.
Trainees have access to our gym, the cafeteria, wi-fi and free onsite parking. The site is a two-minute walk from Hagley train station and local bus routes. Trainees often walk into Hagley village together as there is great range of cafes, shops and pubs. Extensive career advice is given, resulting in high employment rates in excellent schools.
“Trainees appreciate the care and support they are offered. They receive well-considered, personalised guidance to enable them to succeed. A typical view of the trainees is, ‘Leaders have been supportive, knowledgeable and considerate since day one on the course. They display a genuine passion for what they do and take pride in the course and its outcomes. I am honoured to be training with Haybridge” Haybridge SCITT OFSTED Inspection 2024
